When a fridge warms up, every hour counts. We start by confirming airflow and compressor start-up, inspecting the condenser coils for dust blanket buildup that chokes cooling, then check the evaporator fan, defrost heater and bi-metal, and read thermistor values so temperature control is accurate rather than guesswork. Sub-Zero, GE Profile, Whirlpool and Samsung models often present with frost-packed evaporators, noisy fans or intermittent start relays; we correct the underlying cause, recalibrate temperatures and test the ice maker fill and harvest so cubes don’t weld into a single frosty brick. Leaks from the front corners commonly trace back to a clogged defrost drain; we clear the passage, treat with a heat-rated tube and confirm the pan is actually catching water, not your hardwoods.
A washer that won’t drain or spin can derail a week of classes or client meetings. Our techs check the drain pump for obstructions, inspect the pressure hose for pinholes that spoof water levels and examine shock absorbers and suspension rods that cause walking and thumping in small Cambridge basements. On LG, Samsung and Electrolux front-loaders, door lock assemblies and hall sensors are frequent culprits; on Whirlpool and Maytag, failed splutch or a worn drive belt causes weak agitation. After the fix, we level the machine, run a rinse-spin with a load of towels and verify there’s no seepage from the dispenser or the tub-to-pump boot.
Long dry times usually aren’t “mystery moisture”; they’re airflow and heat. We measure vent back-pressure, clean lint accumulation, replace worn drum rollers and idlers that screech, and test high-limit and thermal cutoff fuses that open after a shorted heating element. On sensor-dry models from GE, Bosch and Samsung, we clean and recalibrate moisture sensors so the cycle finishes when clothes are actually dry, not damp around the seams. If the drum won’t turn, a stretched belt or a seized motor bearing is likely; we replace, align and test on both delicate and heavy cycles.
When dishes exit gritty or the machine sits with a pool of water, we examine the wash pump impeller for chips, test the diverter and circulation pressure and verify that spray arms aren’t hair-cracked at the hub. Bosch and KitchenAid units may throw E15 or flashing lights due to leak trays and microswitches; we dry and address the root seal issue rather than just clearing the code. Inlet valves that hum without filling point to a clogged screen or weak solenoid; we restore proper flow, treat hard-water scale and confirm the heater reaches the target for sanitization so glassware stops filming over.
Uneven heat or a dead element on an electric cooktop makes dinner plans wobble. We test surface elements for continuity, replace scorched receptacles, calibrate or replace infinite switches that overshoot heat and, for smooth-top ranges from Frigidaire, GE and Whirlpool, swap out radiant elements under cracked zones, then seal and reassemble so glide drawers and panels sit flush.
If baking turns into a half-done center and a burnt rim, we test and replace bake or broil elements, verify the temperature sensor’s resistance curve, update control board relays where needed and run a full preheat and stabilization test with a calibrated thermometer so your recipes finally match the dial again.

I called Care&Repair to fix our Samsung front-load washer. He gave us a quick diagnosis, told us about different options for repair, and gave us a great price on brand new parts. I would highly recommend to call them for your appliance repairs.

Their work was great and as good as one would have hoped! Got our struggling dryer working again and took care of an unknown noise at the same time. A technician was very professional, friendly, and his communication was top notch. Highly recommend its work!

I would give six stars if I could! Called with an issue of my washer as well as dryer and they came out to fix our problem the same morning. Care&Repair’s technician was professional and did a great job. I never felt rushed, and he even cleaned up afterwards. Will definitely use them again.
